Abstract

The research work sought to know the impact of the use of digital platforms for the agricultural and livestock sector of the Guayabo and Pupusá communities, El Carmen Canton, Manabí Province, in times of disruption as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. in consideration theoretical contributions of studies on the concept of disruption to promote self-sustaining projects, Information and Communication Technologies (TICS) at the service of agricultural activities and precision agriculture as one of the most innovative forms used by developed countries to improve the quality of the products they harvest and promote them in local and international markets. The methodology used was cross-sectional descriptive, since the data under study were collected in a single moment. Data collection was carried out through a Google form survey made up of 14 multiple-choice and simple-answer questions. The most relevant results indicate that the agricultural and livestock communities of Guayabo and Pupusá have not shown a significant increase in the use of digital platforms to drive and promote agricultural activity in the area, all of this as a consequence of the digital illiteracy of the great part. of the population that works in rural sectors, another important factor refers to the mistrust felt by workers to use online platforms to integrate them into the work they carry out, and finally, the poor connectivity of the area due to its geographical location stands out . However, it was evidenced that producers and micro-entrepreneurs are open to learning about and training in new technologies and in the development and implementation of a digital communication network to improve connectivity with the virtual world.
