OSTEOPOROSIS EN PACIENTES HISTERECTOMIZADAS EN EL HOSPITAL VERDI CEVALLOS BALDA EN EL AÑO 2003

Abstract

In the city of Portoviejo - Manabí was carried out a retrospective study to determine the incidence and factors of risk associated to Osteoporosis in histerectomyzed patients in the Hospital Verdi Cevallos Balda of Portoviejo during the year 2003. The study was made in thirty patients of the gynecology area, previous to direct survey he/she was carried out the Bony Densitometry. The incidence of Osteoporosis was two of each ten patients; (thirteen) equivalent Osteopenia presented to 43.33%; Osteoporosis 20%; (six); without loss of DMO 36.67% (eleven). The 30% of the patients referred spontaneous fractures for age range fluctuated among 41 – 50 years specifically the 56.67% (seventeen). Hereditary causes (nine) same percentage mentioned family antecedent of osteoporosis. 26.67 %( eight) they presented rheumatism arthritis. As for the physical activity 43.33% (thirteen) are sedentary; 43.33% (thirteen) alone carry out walks; 13.33% (four) carry out aerobics exercises. The 53.33% of the patients (sixteen) were carried out hysterectomies subtotals; to 33.33% (ten) total surgery and the 13.33% (four) radical hysterectomy. 23.33% (seven) consumes calcium supplements; 10% (three) use bifosfonates; and 20% (six) use vitamin D. 20 %( six) used hormonal treatment; all of them used estrogenics derived.
