TUBERCULOSIS EN USUARIOS DEL CENTRO DE SALUD CALDERÓN, PORTOVIEJO

Abstract

The present investigation was developed under the investigative work modality with the objective of determining the level of knowledge about Tuberculosis in users who attend the Calderón Health Center, Portoviejo and for this a descriptive and prospective study was applied. Where the universe of study was 364 users, of which 20% were worked, obtaining a sample of 73 participating users, who were surveyed given their trained criteria and who attend this Health Center, the operationalization of the variables was carried out and for this, a questionnaire composed of questions related to the level of knowledge about tuberculosis was used. It was concluded that when identifying the sociodemographic characteristics of the universe under study, the majority corresponds to the female gender, between 36 and 40 years of age and with an incomplete primary education level, where the majority are housewives. In addition, it was concluded that the level of knowledge of users according to sociodemographic characteristics and dimensions registered a low level, which highlights the need to apply future measures to improve the level of knowledge about tuberculosis, providing education health care to all users who come to the Calderón Health Center.
