ABORTOS INDUCIDOS EN EL HOSPITAL DR. VERDI CEVALLOS BALDA FEBRERO – OCTUBRE DEL 2011

Abstract

Induced abortions are a public health problem in our environment, so we decided to address this issue proposing a research prospective, descriptive that allows us to define the prevalence and causality of induced abortions in the hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda tiles Portoviejo city during the period from February to October 2011, induced abortions were studied in patients admitted to the Hospital service in question. The main objective of this study is to investigate the induced abortions in the hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda. Other objectives were to identify the general characteristics that accompany abortion, determine the types of abortions according to clinical impression, and classifying the abortion in accordance with causality. The universe was made up of 450 patients of whom 340 patients were cases of induced abortions (76%) and s excluded (24%) corresponding to spontaneous abortions. For data collection instrument was developed according to the variables of the study and analysis was performed using measures of central tendency as frequencies and percentages. The features that accompanied the study group were as follows: The peak occurrence of the disease were aged 19 to 34 years with 69%, the largest source of presentation was the urban area to 68%. In relation to schooling had higher prevalence of secondary type with 72%. The occupation was reported with the highest percentage was for the homemaker or housekeeping with 54%.
