INCIDENCIA Y COMPLICACIONES MATERNO-INFANTILES EN GESTANTES MAYORES DE 35 AÑOS ATENDIDAS EN EL ÁREA DE GINECOLOGÍA DEL HOSPITAL PROVINCIAL VERDI CEVALLOS BALDA DE PORTOVIEJO EN ENERO 2005 - DICIEMBRE 2006

Abstract

Pregnancy in women 35 years and older is of special interest due to the increased maternal and fetal complications. Because of this and the rising incidence of delayed pregnancies, it’s considered important to study the impact of the principal risk factors associated to this group. The present study is of retrospective type analyzing a total of 440 pregnant of 35 more years entered the Service of gineco-obstetrics of the Hospital Provincial Verdi Cevallos Balda in the period between from January 2005 to December 2006. For such purpose the information of the clinical file by means of a leaf of gathering of data was obtained and was analyzed the most important variables comparing them with the general incidences in the population. Upon concluding the present study is was observed that of the 440 patients the 57% they had an age understood between 35 and 40 years, a 53% they were multíparas, of escolaridad inferior, the 59% coming from rural zones, with a period greater intergenésico of 2 years. The 55% they were childbirths eutócicos, the caesarean operations corresponded to the 34%. The obstetric complication more frequent was the distocias in a 20% followed by the preeclampsia in a 12%. Between the complications not obstetric the more frequent was the lacerations in a 27%., followed by the surgical antecedents. The 83% they of the patients had alive children, the 68% to term with normal apgar, the 70% with appropriate peso, the 96% without no congenital malformación. Of the problems expounded in this investigation should take the pregnant old patients' of 35 years gineco-obstetric periodic evaluation, in order to avoiding any complication for this or the product on time.
