dc.description The study was descriptive and prospective and aimed to determine the compliance of the staff hand washing protocol in the area of pediatric emergency health at the Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda Hospital, where it was observed, in relation to the first objective Which indicates the characteristics of the study population, in the pediatric emergency health area at the Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda Hospital. Regarding gender, a predominance of the female gender was observed, with 71.06%, with an average age between 21 and 30 years, which grouped 60.52%. While the most prevalent was the medical intern with 52.63%, it was observed that 100% have received training, which have been annual, which shows that each year they are updating the hand-washing program. In the second objective when establishing compliance with the hand washing protocol of health personnel in the pediatric emergency area, 100% of the respondents are aware of the 5 moments of hand washing, 76.31% if applicable In each user's attention. 76.31% if the complete procedure of hand washing and disinfection is performed, although this asepsis protocol is not fully complied with, since 21.05% do so sometimes and 2.63% do not. It was possible to identify that 65.78% a has knowledge about the correct time of the hand washing procedure of (40 to 60 seconds). In the third objective, it was observed that the predisposing factors in non-compliance with the MSP hand washing protocol was the ethical and professional predisposition of the nursing staff, since 10.53% did not use short nails, clean and without enamel In relation to 89.47% that it does not do. The 34.22% did not register a clinical hand washing between 40 to 60 seconds, in relation to the 65.78% that if it does. For his part and 63.15% of the meets the five moments of clinical washing of hands before touching the patient. In relation to 78.95% of health personnel in the pediatric emergency area do not comply, the medical interns with 52.63% and in relation to the nursing staff and in relation to the nursing staff, 7.89% If it complies with hand washing, in relation to the 10.52% that does not perform it. es_ES
dc.description.abstract El estudio fue de tipo descriptivo y prospectivo y tuvo como objetivo determinar el cumplimiento del protocolo de lavado de manos del personal en el área de salud de emergencia pediátrica en el Hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda, donde se observó, en lo referente al primer objetivo que indica las características de la población en estudio, en el área de salud de emergencia pediátrica en el Hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda. En lo referente al género se observó un predominio del género femenino con el 71,06%, con una edad promedio entre 21 a 30 años, que agrupó al 60,52%. Mientras que la más prevalente fue el interno de medicina con el 52,63%, se observó que el 100% ha recibido capacitación, que han sido anuales, lo cual evidencia que cada año se encuentran actualizando el programa de lavado de manos. En el segundo objetivo al establecer el cumplimiento del protocolo de lavado de manos del personal de salud en el área de emergencia pediátrica, el 100% de los encuestados tienen conocimiento sobre los 5 momentos del lavado de manos, el 76,31% si lo aplica en cada atención del usuario. El 76,31% si realiza el procedimiento completo del lavado y desinfección de manos, aunque no se cumple a cabalidad este protocolo de asepsia, ya que el 21,05% lo realizan a veces y el 2,63% no lo realiza. Se pudo identificar que el 65,78% a tiene conocimiento sobre el tiempo correcto que dura el procedimiento de lavado de manos de (40 a 60 segundos). En el tercer objetivo se observaron que los factores que predisponen en el incumplimiento del protocolo del lavado de manos del MSP, fue la predisposición ética y profesional del personal de enfermería, ya que el 10,53% no utiliza uñas cortas, limpias y sin esmalte en relación al 89,47% que no si realiza. El 34,22% no registró un lavado clínico de manos entre 40 a 60 segundos, en relación al 65,78 % que si lo hace. Por su parte y el 63,15% del cumple los cinco momentos del lavado clínico de manos antes de tocar al paciente. Las investigadoras, mediante la ficha de observación se confirmó que el personal de salud, el 71,05% si cumple con el lavado de manos, en relación al 28,94% que no lo realiza. En relación al 5,26% del personal de enfermería en el área de emergencia pediátrica que no lo cumple. es_ES
