Estudio para implementación de una biblioteca digital para la difusión informativa en el cantón Rocafuerte

Abstract

The research aims to analyze the bibliographic Fund of GAD (decentralized autonomous Government) from Rocafuerte public library, to determine the implementation of a digital library that complements the current services it provides to its users, considering the importance of bring the sources of knowledge through technological and scientific resources and in this way provide information through online access services. For its development was applied in descriptive, analytical, bibliographical and statistical methods quantitative methodology, based on updated bibliography as a doctoral thesis, scientific journals, web pages; the technique used for the gathering of information was the observation, applied through a guide of observation and analysis in situ of the bibliographic Fund which allowed to obtain statistical data which make it possible to reach final conclusions such as: the collection of the library meets the characteristics necessary for the implementation of a digital library, determined that 72% of bibliographic material is suitable for scanning. After the analysis and considering that the material complies with the requirements for becoming a part of a digital library; recommended several software open access would be able to be implemented to build the digital bibliographic. The digital library allows you to provide users of updated information so that you can get easy access anywhere. How prospective it can be concluded that public library of the GAD of Rocafuerte to implement the digital library would be increasing its coverage to users of information.
