FACTORES ASOCIADOS AL CONSUMO DE SUSTANCIAS PSICOTRÓPICAS EN ESTUDIANTES DE BACHILLERATO DE LA UNIDAD EDUCATIVA COLÓN

Abstract

Addictions are an important problem in the field of public health due to the damage it causes at a personal, family, community, academic and work level. The associated factors that induce the consumption of psychotropic substances by high school students of the Colón Educational Unit of the Portoviejo canton were analyzed. A prospective - transversal - descriptive work was carried out, to 100% of the universe of high school students from said educational unit. The methods were applied: analytical - synthetic, historical - logical and inductive - deductive, a survey was used through the Google Forms platform, the processing and analysis of these data consisted in the elaboration of tables and figures that were analyzed in criteria numerical, percentage, analytical and interpretive. When characterizing the students, the largest group is at the age of 14 years and this same group is made up mainly of women, where most of the students live only with their mother with a lower income of $ 103 per month. The risk factors that influenced these students were: that they sometimes feel frustration, have permissive parents, have little tolerance for conflict situations, have some friends who are consumers, school dropouts, with adaptation and conflict problems, little community participation, community permissive and not having recreational, sports and cultural areas and little knowledge about drugs. In addition, the risk factors associated with consumption were classified into: individual, family and social risks.
