CONSUMO DE TABACO EN LOS ALUMNOS DEL CICLO DIVERSIFICADO SECCIÓN DIURNA DEL COLEGIO NACIONAL OLMEDO, DE LA CIUDAD DE PORTOVIEJO, PERIODO DE JULIO A DICIEMBRE 2004

Abstract

The present work named ―Consumption of tobacco in the students of the diversified cycle day section of the National School Olmedo of Portoviejo city, among Julio to December of the 2004‖ it is a descriptive type. The objectives were: To identify factors and causes that induce to the consumption of the tobacco, consumers percentage, age groups and sex with more incidence, type, frequency and quantity of cigarette that consume, grade of knowledge that the interviewed consumers have and to elaborate proposal of fight antitobacco, it will be executed in the period of six months of the year 2005, under the responsibility of authorities of Solca and of the National School Olmedo. The methodology that was used was by survey directed to 47% (332) of the total universe (694) with a margin of error of 4%, showing the results in squares and statistical graphics. The obtained results were: 73% of those interviewed was non consumers and 27% consumers of which 24% is smoking occasional and 3% daily; the sex with more percentage of consumption of tobacco occupies it the masculine sex; the age with more percentage of consumers is among 16 to 17 years with 64%, the main factor corresponds to the external influences (parents, brothers, friends) and finally the curiosity.
