dc.description La ictericia representa el ingreso habitual de recién nacidos de entre 0 a 28 días a los servicios de neonatología de distintos hospitales del tercer nivel; es una de las causas más frecuentes de morbilidad hospitalaria neonatal, definiéndose como la coloración amarilla de la piel y mucosas de los recién nacidos; originadas por aumento de las concentraciones de bilirrubina sérica. Se analizaron las características clínico - epidemiológicas de recién nacidos con ictericia en el servicio de neonatología en el hospital Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda de Portoviejo en el periodo de enero 1 a junio 30 del 2020. Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo, transversal, trabajando con 50 de los 75 neonatos que ingresaron al servicio de neonatología en el primer semestre de 2020. Los métodos del nivel teórico que se emplearon en el estudio corresponden al inductivo-deductivo, hipotético-deductivo, analítico-sintético, histórico-lógico; como método del nivel empírico se implementó un formulario de datos que se llenó mediante la revisión de las historias clínicas de los 50 neonatos estudiados; el procesamiento y análisis de los datos consistió en la elaboración de tablas y figuras que fueron analizados en criterios numéricos, porcentuales, analíticos e interpretativos. El sexo predominante en la investigación fue el femenino, las madres eran adultas jóvenes que procedían de zonas rurales, los neonatos presentaron nacimientos a término con peso ideal, la ictericia se presentó después de las 24 horas de vida neonatal, diagnosticados con zonas de Kramer III, el factor de riesgo predisponente fue la incompatibilidad del grupo ABO.
dc.description.abstract Jaundice represents the usual admission of newborns aged 0-28 days to the neonatology services of different tertiary hospitals; it is one of the most frequent causes of neonatal hospital morbidity, defined as the yellow coloration of the skin and mucous membranes of newborns; caused by increased serum bilirubin concentrations. The clinical- epidemiological characteristics of newborns with jaundice were analyzed in the neonatology service at the Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda Hospital in Portoviejo from January 1st to June 30th, 2020. A descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional study was carried out, working with 50 of the 75 neonates who entered the neonatology service in the first semester of 2020. The theoretical level methods used in the study correspond to inductive- deductive, hypothetical-deductive, analytical-synthetic, historical-logical; as an empirical level method, a data form was implemented that was filled out by reviewing the medical records of the 50 neonates studied; the processing and analysis of the data consisted of the elaboration of tables and figures that were analyzed in numerical, percentage, analytical and interpretive criteria. The predominant sex in the research was female, the mothers were young adults who came from rural areas, the neonates had term births with ideal weight, jaundice appeared after 24 hours of neonatal life, diagnosed with Kramer III zones , the predisposing risk factor was the incompatibility of the ABO group.
