FACTORES QUE INFLUYEN EN EL INCUMPLIMIENTO DEL ESQUEMA DE VACUNACIÓN EN MENORES DE DOS AÑOS. CENTRO DE SALUD MEJÍA, PORTOVIEJO

Abstract

The present research work had as a general objective to analyze the factors that influence non- compliance with the vaccination scheme in children under two years of age at the Mejía Health Center from Portoviejo. For its development, a descriptive, cross-sectional, retrospective clinical-epidemiological research study with a qualitative approach was established. The universe was made up of 17 tutors of children under two years old belonging to the Mejía Health Center who during the period October 2020 to February 2021 presented non-compliance, the sample that was worked with was 100% of the universe. In order to meet the established objectives, different methods were used, at the theoretical level the inductive-deductive, the hypothetical-deductive, the analytical-synthetic and the historical- logical; while, at the empirical level, two instruments were used, the first one consisted of a data collection form on the vaccination status of minors and information necessary to establish contact with the guardians, this was obtained from the records of the institution's ENI prior to conducting the interviews. The second instrument was based on a survey structured by 17 items whose organization and content were related to the purposes that were proposed. The most relevant result of the research was the significant influence of the institutional factor due to the unavailability of certain biologics, which represented a determining reason for non- compliance with the vaccination scheme.
