Abstract

The present investigation work is of kina descriptive, prospecting in wich the general objective was to determine the participation that the infirmary staff offer to the intoxicate patient that arrive to the emergency service of the Dr. Verdi Cevallos Balda Hospital of the Portoviejo city during the months on August 2005 until on January 2006. The universe was to adjust for 93 patients with intoxication 36 of them was for organosfosforados, 32 for alcohol and 25 for foods the participation of infirmary was to determine through of the observation in the exe of the protocols of attention for each kind of intoxications, however it was to restore for people to research induding in this observation to the bachelor of science of the infirmary staff; infirmary to help, and infirmary internals that work in the emergency service. The information got us though of an observation guide at the infirmary staff that work in this service where was present the knowledge and skills that exist in the attention of the intoxicate patient for the causes last writing. In the investigation made to the family of the intoxicate patient for organosfosforados. Besides, took us datas of the registration book of the emergency service and statistic department, clinic histories of the patients with intoxication for organosfosforados, for determine the causes, kind of toxic and general datas. The investigation work finish determine that exist a major incidence of intoxicate patients for organosfosforados in ages among 15 and 23 years the majority because, they emigrate to get a better life. The infirmary staff that work at the emergency service to carry out with 72% the actions of infirmary in the attention to patients with intoxication it’s a big percentage of to carrying out. Taking as reference this datas let us recommendation to improve the attention.
