CONOCIMIENTOS SOBRE TAMIZAJE NEONATAL EN MADRES DE NIÑOS MENORES DE 1 MES. CENTRO DE SALUD PRIMERO DE MAYO

Abstract

The present curricular development work aimed to assess the level of knowledge about neonatal screening of mothers of children under 1 month of age at the Primero de Mayo Health Center, Portoviejo. The sample consisted of 36 mothers of children under 1 month, using as techniques a questionnaire called "Level of knowledge of pregnant women in the neonatal screening test in the Las Vegas cooperative of Buena Fé canton" designed by Evelin Yessenia Vélez graduates Celorio and Ariel Steven Domínguez Zambrano that served to demonstrate the level of important aspects of neonatal screening. It was possible to know that 47.2% of the mothers were between 15 and 25 years of age, where only 44.44% had completed secondary education and 66.67% of the mothers had more than one child. It was shown that 44.44% of the mothers had little knowledge about the heel test, 41.66% assuring that the place where they received the information about the Neonatal Screening was in the Public Health Centers, it was shown that several Research carried out had similar results with this study, where the mother's age and the knowledge they had about the heel test had many similarities in the results of the different bibliographic references and this research.
