CONSERVACIÓN DE LOS DOCUMENTOS: ESTUDIO DE CASO IGLESIA PIO IX DE LA CIUDAD DE PORTOVIEJO, PROVINCIA DE MANABÍ, REPÚBLICA DEL ECUADOR.

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze through a descriptive theoretical study the preservation of documents in the Pío IX Church of the city of Portoviejo. This research includes specific strategies and techniques, relating to the protection of both printed and digital materials, against deterioration, damage and abandonment of texts. The methodology is descriptive; Likewise, documentary analysis is used in the revision of the theoretical presuppositions and the logical historical method for the organization of ideas, with this we study the aspects that lead to a conceptual approach to establish a relationship with the documentation sciences. In addition, conclusions are made highlighting the feasibility of having a document that governs the work of the institution facilitating the decision-making processes of the personnel working in the organization and document management. Among the results is the lack of knowledge for the conservation of ecclesiastical documents in the Pius IX church. The conclusions point to the creation of a preservation plan that contains the preservation guidelines and the definition of specific parameters to maintain the documentation through the years.
