dc.description In the área of palliative care of Dr. Luis Villacreses Colmont Oncology Hospital in Portoviejo, a participatory diagnosis was made, identifying as main problem the lack of interest on the part of relatives and caregivers to strengthen knowledge about palliative care for terminally ill patients. This work was carried out using the brainstorming methodology. The overall objective was to optimize the education of 30 family members and caregivers of cancer patients; And 15 members of the multidisciplinary team in the palliative care area of this health home, through educational actions of health personnel; Conformation of the selfhelp group; And, educational plan, directed to the relatives and caregivers on the domiciliary management of the terminal patient; Raising awareness of this population about skin care, food, mucositis and self-esteem, and encouraging their participation in solving the problem, in order to improve the quality of life of cancer patients. During the development of the intervention plan, the participation of both managers, multidisciplinary team; And relatives and caregivers of cancer patients. The proposed objectives were met in 100%. At the conclusion of the project, the entire multidisciplinary team, as well as the relatives and caregivers of oncology patients, were trained in the management of the terminal patient. es_ES
dc.description.abstract En el área de Cuidados Paliativos del Hospital Oncológico Dr. Luis Villacreses Colmont de Portoviejo, se realizó un trabajo de investigación con modalidad comunitaria mediante el diagnóstico participativo identificándose como problema principal necesidades educativas en el majeño domiciliario parte de los familiares y cuidadores del paciente paliativo. El objetivo general propuesto fue optimizar la educación de familiares y cuidadores de usuarios oncológicos; y, miembros del equipo multidisciplinario del área cuidados paliativos de esta casa de salud, mediante acciones educativas mediante una casa abierta en cual se brido charlas educativas, entrega de trípticos, juego didácticos para evaluar el conocimiento del familiar o cuidador ; conformación del grupo de autoayuda; y, plan educativo, dirigido a los familiares y cuidadores sobre el manejo domiciliario del paciente en etapa terminal; consiguiendo concienciar a este población sobre los cuidados de la piel, alimentación, mucositis y autoestima, y fomentando su participación en la solución del problema, a fin de mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente oncológico. Se contó con la participación tanto de Directivos, Equipo Multidisciplinario; y, familiares y cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos. Al concluir el proyecto, se logró cumplir con los objetivos propuesto en un 95%. es_ES
