FACTORES RELACIONADOS AL ESQUEMA DE VACUNACIÓN INCOMPLETO EN NIÑOS MENORES DE 5 AÑOS ECUATORIANOS

Abstract

Vaccines are preparations based on live or attenuated microorganisms that, upon entering the body, activate the immune system by generating an antibody, obtaining immunization. This research analyzed the specific factors associated with non-compliance with the immunization schedule in Ecuadorians under 5 years of age; belonging to the Primero de Mayo health center, 18 de Octubre parish, Portoviejo canton, Manabí province; a cross-sectional, retrospective and descriptive methodology was used, with a population of 42 mothers and/or caregivers of children under five years of age whose vaccination schedule was incomplete, to obtain the information the survey technique was used, whose results showed that 45.24% of the respondents indicated as main factors, the scarcity of product in the health center, 33.33% due to the confinement of covid-19. This paper concludes by asserting that parents, apart from not having time for their jobs, adding to all this the health crisis of the pandemic that caused product shortages, confinement, among others, leading them to fail to comply with the vaccination scheme for minors of five years.
