Abstract

The reliability of laboratory results must be guaranteed through quality policies throughout the entire biochemical process, including the preanalytical phase. The fact that various medical decisions and procedures depend on them, in the clinical laboratory setting, interference can be a major source of laboratory errors with the potential to cause serious patient harm. After hemolysis, lipemia is the most common endogenous interference that can influence the results of various laboratory methods through various mechanisms. The subject of this research work is: Handling of lipemic and hemolyzed samples in the quality of biochemistry results in the clinical laboratories of the city of Portoviejo. Whose general objective is: To evaluate the influence of the handling of lipemic and hemolyzed samples on the quality of biochemical analyzes in clinical laboratories in the city of Portoviejo. This research work will be carried out in qualitative terms, making reference to the existence of guidelines to guarantee quality control within the clinical laboratory work, its study sample will be from 6 clinical laboratories in the city of Portoviejo
