Their presence is more prevalent in underdeveloped areas lacking hygiene and basic sanitation conditions; transmission is mainly due to the presence of faeces in food and contaminated water. Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of intestinal protozoosis and helminthiasis in patients attending the Andrés De Vera Health Center in Portoviejo, Manabí. Methodology: A retrospective study was carried out, based on data from the coproparasitological examination carried out in the health center’s laboratory, throughout 2017. Results: We detected 63% of parasitized individuals with both commensal and pathogenic species. The highest frequency of parasites was found in males (65%), although there was no significant difference with females. The 0-10 year old group, presented 36% of infected patients and the least relevant was the age of 81-90 years, with 1% of the total of parasitized individuals. In this variable, a significant difference between the age groups was determined. The highest percentage was found in the Entamoeba complex, with 35.7% of cases, while the lowest prevalence was Balantidium coli, with 7 cases (0.3%) in the total number of patients. In the case of helminths, only 1.4 per cent of Hymenolepis nana and 0.6 per cent of Ascaris lumbricoides infections were detected. Conclusion: that there is a high prevalence of intestinal parasitosis in the institution evaluated
