ItemABORTO EN ADOLESCENTES ATENDIDAS EN EL ÁREA DE GINECOLOGÍA DEL HOSPITAL VERDI CEVALLOS BALDA DE PORTOVIEJO DURANTE EL PERIODO ENERO-JULIO 2011(Universidad Técnica de Manabí, 2011) INTRIAGO VELÁSQUEZ, JORGE LUIS ; PALACIOS PONCE, JOHANNA MONSERRATE ; RÍOS SAAVVEDRA,ISABELAbortion is defined as spontaneous or provoked the interruption of pregnancy from 20 weeks of gestation with a fetal weight below 500 grams. Spontaneous abortion is the most common complication of pregnancy. About 85% occur before 12 weeks gestation. The true incidence of spontaneous abortion is uncertain because it is very difficult to identify the concepts and spontaneous abortions in a very early stage. In 50% of spontaneous abortions occurred during the first trimester of pregnancy is detected an abnormal karyotype. Threatened abortion in the pregnancy there is a live product with uterine contractions, with or without genital bleeding and cervix closed. The ongoing or inevitable abortion is characterized by a progressive increase of pain, contractions or bleeding with cervical change or ruptured membranes. There is talk of incomplete abortion and partial removal of fetal tissues, placental or amniotic fluid through a bleeding neck and variable modifications. Complete abortion is the complete expulsion of the fetus and ovular attachments with subsequent cessation of bleeding and pain. The missed abortion is characterized by the retention in the uterine cavity of an embryo or fetus death or arrest of the normal progression of pregnancy. The infection causes febrile obstetric before, during or after miscarriage or abortion accompanied by other signs such as uterine tenderness, foul odor or pus is defined as septic abortion. Induced abortion is to cause premature termination of the life development of the embryo or fetus for disposal, with or without medical assistance, and any social or legal circumstances. The completion of this study showed that there is an increased number of cases corresponding to spontaneous abortions with a total of 87.5% (112), while in the statistical records of Verdi Cevallos Hospital Balda recorded only 12.5% of patients admitted induced abortion, showed a higher percentage in older adolescents with 91% recorded in the period from January to July 2011.
