The present investigative work, done in the community “El Bejuco” hand in hand with the National Hygiene Institute of Portoviejo “Leopoldo Izquieta Pérez (INH), uses a serologic probe in order to determine the incidence of Chagas’ disease in an specific group of inhabitants of this community as well as the different risk factors that contribute the existence of this disease. Throughout the collection of blood samples, important information was obtained making use of the immuno-enzymic test “Elisa” along with the INH employees help. In addition, surveys and observations were done in order to determine the diverse factors that let this disease occur.
